Shards of White Pottery 
Lei-shaped Vessels
Late Shang Dynasty
(1766-1122 B.C.)
   A total of 88 white
pottery shards were 
unearthed from Shang 
imperial tomb 1001 at
Houchiachuang, Anyang.
These belonged to two
separate lei-shaped 
vessels. The lei was 
originally a ritual
bronze wine vessel.
